Meditation is a universal method of aligning your mind and body to be present in the moment.
If you enjoy learning about spiritual philosophies and practices, Meditation Portal is an eclectic mix. You’ll find meditation and energy healing tips, articles and reviews, as well as recommendations for meditation supplies and tools for creating sacred space. You’re welcome to share your meditation experiences and ideas for creating sacred space in your meditation room or corner.
While a spiritual path isn’t necessary to practice meditation, all the world’s traditions are rich in historical teachings that include some form of meditation, which is part of a path of enlightenment. Meditation is commonly thought of as part of the Buddhism and Hinduism practice, yet it also has traditional origins in Judaic-Christian, Muslim, American Native, Mysticism, and many other cultures.
The scientific community is more and more interested in measuring the effects of meditation. Scholars measure its benefits and how the body-mind interacts with the unseen nature of reality.
It’s even become mainstream, when once it was not. The current evolution of medical science embraces spirituality, with hospitals and clinics conducting studies and offering courses on practicing mindfulness meditation. More physicians are recommending lifestyle changes to reduce stress and its effects as preventative medicine and to help treat the cause and effect of illness.
People from all cultures and walks of life are practicing regular meditation. As a mind-body practice, it can help with reducing stress, relieving pain, increasing well-being and vitality, and finding simple happiness.
Whatever your spiritual path is, meditation can offer you pearls of great worth. Your reward can be found in any practice, including meditation and guided imagery.
If meditation is new to you, explore until you find your own way. You’ll enter the vast world within, where you make your own connection with that part of Eternal Source that you are, which some call soul.
You can study and practice meditation for a lifetime, yet each session brings its own truth. In Buddhist tradition this is known as beginner’s mind. It’s a good approach to anything in life, including meditation, because it relieves you of the idea that you need to do or be more.
You don’t have to strive
Meditation is not a competitive sport. The goal is not to experience something specific or phenomenal for your practice to have validity or value. It’s not even about how deep you go or how long you practice. The regular act of coming apart from the clamor of the outer world just brings a simplicity to your life, unlike anything else.
Regular meditation practice can unburden you from stubborn thought and emotional patterns
Meditation’s greatest treasure isn’t found outside yourself. You won’t need to travel far from where you live. The value comes from going silently within to await clarity. The secret is in just being easy with yourself and, in so doing, finding your connection with everyone in the All That is.

So glad to hear from you.
It is good always to meditate for meditation. Not for other purposes but for ‘me-die-tation’ or station by which the false I – me – dies and disappears. – With good wishes.
Thank you Ramesch, how is beautiful. And true.
